How to Care for a Resin and Wood Lamp

15 Sep 2026

A resin and wood lamp has several parts to look after: the clear decorative scene, the wood, and the lighting components. The simplest routine is a careful placement and gentle dusting. There is no need to add a polish or treatment just because another wooden object in your home uses one.

The advice below is a conservative care routine for an indoor decorative lamp. Follow any instructions supplied with your specific ORYNAVA design first, and ask us before using a cleaning product you are unsure about.

Choose a stable, dry display spot

Place the wooden base fully on a level surface, with enough space that the lamp will not be knocked when you reach for everyday items. Keep the cable from hanging where someone might pull it or catch a foot on it. Check that books or decorative objects are not pressing against the scene.

As a precaution, avoid prolonged direct sunlight, nearby heaters, open flames, and places exposed to splashes or steam. An ocean-inspired lamp is not an aquarium accessory. Do not place it inside water or assume that its underwater scene means the electrical components are waterproof.

Dust with a soft cloth

Switch off and unplug the USB connection before cleaning. Start with a clean, dry microfiber cloth and light pressure. Wipe gently across accessible surfaces, supporting the lamp without gripping small decorative details. Avoid scrubbing one spot repeatedly or dragging grit across the resin.

Use a separate clean part of the cloth as you work. If a mark does not come away with gentle dry cleaning, stop and contact ORYNAVA support with a photograph. That is a better next step than experimenting with a stronger cleaner on a visible area.

Keep products and moisture away from the components

Do not spray cleaner directly onto the lamp, base, cable, or remote. Avoid abrasive pads, solvent-based cleaners, and attempts to buff out a scratch at home. Do not apply wood oil, wax, resin coating, or furniture polish unless we have confirmed it is appropriate for your particular piece.

The wood and resin belong to the same decorative object, but that does not mean they need the same treatment. A product intended for unfinished furniture is not automatically suitable for the surface or finish of a lamp.

Move the whole piece carefully

Unplug the cable before moving the lamp. Support the base and body securely, and never lift the piece by the USB cable, a protruding detail, or the remote. Clear the destination surface first so you are not holding the lamp while trying to make room.

For a room move or storage, keep the piece dry and cushioned, with the cable arranged so it cannot pull against the connection. Retain the original protective packaging when practical. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of the packed lamp.

Pause if something is damaged

If you notice a damaged cable, loose connection, or other electrical concern, stop using the lamp and contact us. Do not open the base or attempt to repair the wiring yourself. Send your order information and clear photographs so our team can understand the issue; follow our returns and support policy for the next steps.

Quick questions

Can I rinse the resin under a tap?

No. Keep the assembled lamp and its electrical parts out of water. Begin with gentle dry dusting instead.

Should I oil the sandalwood?

Do not add an oil or furniture treatment without checking with us. Care depends on the finished piece, not only the type of wood.

Can I leave it on a sunny windowsill?

We recommend choosing a spot away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat as a precaution. A shaded shelf or interior side table is a better starting point.
